Aloha Friends! This five night, six day ukulele workshop has a two fold purpose:  to provide sufficient time to delve deep into significant ukulele concepts and techniques, while also giving us the opportunity to enjoy isolation at a beautiful venue so we’re able to concentrate fully on ukulele….

In this setting, YOU are able to propose your own learning objectives and know these will be addressed in a manner that will result in meaningful assimilation.  Best of all, we’re going to do it and have FUN in a beautiful, relaxing setting.  Some areas of interest we’ll talk and strum about:  left hand technique, right hand technique, music’s organization as it relates to ukulele, styling considerations (like playing melody and harmony simultaneously), how to choose high-quality instruments and care for them, meaningful practice techniques, equally meaningful teaching techniques, repertoire, arranging, program development for those of you who teach and organize ukulele groups and most importantly, whatever else you’d like to address.  With your registration, please forward your curriculum suggestions to me and I’ll assure they gain the attention they deserve.  I look forward to sharing a fun and rewarding six ukulele days with you! With aloha, Kimo

Kimo Hussey will be presenting a workshop on “Song Styling-How To Arrange It And Make It Your Own”

How does he create those beautiful musical arrangements?

KIMO HUSSEY’S arrangements are world-renowned for their dignity and striking beauty. We have wondered for years how he does it! Now you can learn the secrets of his stunning world-class arrangements. You will be at his side working with Kimo as you craft ukulele arrangements together!

Kimo (from Kaneohe, Oahu) is an in-demand and much beloved ukulele performer and teacher, who travels extensively to ukulele festivals and workshops around the world.

Kimo is currently conducting workshops and seminars worldwide, with a plan to release a new CD late 2013. His goal is “to share as much of my knowledge of ukulele as possible. Years of musical experiences teaching and playing throughout the world have consistently shown me what I most enjoy about music and ukulele is being a part of music’s creative process. I have learned that I continue to learn about ukulele, and so I never run out of things to share. The process massages the soul. It’s a real joy and one big reason why I love doing workshops about anything that has to do with ukulele, sharing with others what has been shared with me.”
